So I have been contemplating the idea of creating a blog for a while now. As if going to grad school and raising three kids isn't enough! I now want to add a re-commitment to ultra running, and blogging about it on the side. But, here goes.
So, I have been getting back into running regularly this summer and have some races picked out that I want to do this fall and winter near Laramie, WY. And then I found out that my friend Ben Laster completed the run along the length of the Bob Marshall Wilderness earlier this month that him and I were discussing and tentatively planning last summer before I moved to Wyoming for grad school. Here is a link to the newspaper article:
The Daily Interlake: Across The Bob in a Single Day
He ran 75 miles from the northern end at Meadow Creek trail head to the southern end at the North Fork of the Blackfoot trail head, in 15 hours. I was super stoked to talk to him about it and hear how it went. But it also made me realize that I want to do some similar runs. And to do that I needed to take a serious look at my own training, which has been inconsistent to say the least. I realized that I needed a new plan and a new commitment to make this happen.
